How to go to Mount Hinata 日向山

To get to Mount Hinata 日向山, first take the JR train to either Kobuchizawa Station 小淵沢駅, Nagasaka Station 長坂駅 or Hinoharu Station 日野春駅 station and take a taxi (about ¥6,000), or a government-supported shared taxi service called Mountain Taxi シェア型登山タクシー at a cheaper price (much more on this later) to reach Ojiragawa Canyon Parking Lot 尾白川渓谷 駐車場, the foot and trailhead of Mount Hinata 日向山.

Hiking Trails to Mount Hinata 日向山

There is 1 main trail to hike up Mount Hinata 日向山.

  1. Mount Hinata Trail 日向山コース

Simply take the JR train to reach any of these JR stations nearest to the trailhead of Mount Hinata 日向山.

From any of these stations, take a taxi to the Ojiragawa Canyon Parking Lot 尾白川渓谷 駐車場. The cost will be around the same at ¥6,000.

If you do not mind sharing a taxi with someone else, consider the shared taxi called Mountain Taxi シェア型登山タクシー provided by Hokuto city 北杜市.

It cost much cheaper than private taxi and is better for the environment.

Unfortunately, it only has 1 service, the Southern Alps Line 南アルプス尾白線, that starts from Kobuchizawa Station 小淵沢駅.

This Southern Alps Line 南アルプス尾白線 service from Mountain Taxi シェア型登山タクシー operates from Jun 15, 2024 (Sat) to Nov 15, 2024 (Fri).

Take a private taxi after you finish your hike.

There are many camping grounds near there, so you will be able to find help in case you are not able to call a taxi.

Alternatively, make a reservation for the shared taxi, the Mountain Taxi シェア型登山タクシー, back to Kobuchizawa Station 小淵沢駅 and make your way from using the JR lines.

If you are taking the shared taxi service "Mountain Taxi シェア型登山タクシー" and you can complete your climb early, you can consider taking a dip in the Ojiro no Yu 尾白の湯 while waiting for your return taxi.

You are able to request to be picked up at Ojiro no Yu 尾白の湯 at a slightly later timing, about 5 minutes later, as the taxi departs from Ojiragawa Canyon Parking Lot 尾白川渓谷 駐車場 and passes by Ojiro no Yu 尾白の湯.
