Hiking Trails to Mount Hiuchigadake 燧ヶ岳
There are 4 main trails to hike up Mount Hiuchigadake 燧ヶ岳.
- Choei Shindo Trail 長英新道コース

At other timings, the Oze Numayama Pass Line 尾瀬沼山峠線 servicing under the normal operating hours can be used.

There will be a connecting bus to transport the passengers to the various trailheads in the Oze National Park 尾瀬国立公園 area that does not arrive until 4:20am.
Fortunately, to a certain extent, you can rest in the train until 3:50am.
The Oze Night Train 23:45 尾瀬夜行２３：４５ departs from various stops in Tokyo, offering boarding options. However, please note that not all stops, except the first stop at Asakusa Station 浅草駅, may be available for every trip.

Then, the Oze Night Train 23:45 Private Bus 尾瀬夜行23:45専用バス will take the passengers from Aizukogen-Oze-Guchi Station 会津高原尾瀬口 to the various trailheads in the Oze National Park 尾瀬国立公園 area to start their climb.
The Oze Miike Bus Stop 尾瀬御池バス停 and Oze Numayama Pass Bus Stop 尾瀬沼山峠バス停 are along this line.
This is a special chartered bus that is meant to connect passengers who boarded the Oze Night Train 23:45 尾瀬夜行２３：４５ from Aizukogen-Oze-Guchi Station 会津高原尾瀬口 to the various trailheads in the Oze National Park 尾瀬国立公園.
There will be a little more than 1 hour of resting time after the night train has arrived at Aizukogen-Oze-Guchi Station 会津高原尾瀬口 till the bus departs.
You can remain on the train for that about until 3:50am while waiting for the bus, which is scheduled to arrive at 4:20am.
This arrangement is pretty interesting, a first for me 😀

Oshimizu Bus Stop 大清水バス停
The Oshimizu Bus Stop 大清水バス停 is not located at the foot of Mount Hiuchigadake 燧ヶ岳. It requires a bit of trekking to get there.
The trek from Oshimizu Bus Stop 大清水バス停 to the start of the Nadekkubo Trail ナデッ窪コース at Mount Hiuchigadake 燧ヶ岳 is about 2.5 hours. This preliminary hike, although a requirement before the actual ascent, provides an ideal warm-up.
The silver lining is that the overnight Oze Line 尾瀬号, catering specifically to Oshimizu Bus Stop 大清水バス停, reaches at the wee hour of 3:50 AM.
Such an early commencement ensures that by the time you reach the trailhead of Nadekkubo Trail ナデッ窪コース, dawn will have already illuminated the landscape with its first rays of light of the day.

Lastly, the Miharashi Shindo Trail 見晴新道コース starts from the Ozegahara Wetlands 尾瀬ヶ原.
There are various ways to get to Ozegahara Wetlands 尾瀬ヶ原 to start your climb of Mount Hiuchigadake 燧ヶ岳 from the Miharashi Shindo Trail 見晴新道コース, like from the Hatomachi Pass 鳩待峠 at the foot of Mount Shibutsu 至仏山 as we have covered in our other article.
We would recommend descending into the Ozegahara Wetlands 尾瀬ヶ原 via Miharashi Shindo Trail 見晴新道コース, rather than using it to ascend Mount Hiuchigadake 燧ヶ岳.
You can either depart from Mount Hiuchigadake 燧ヶ岳 via the Oshimizu Bus Stop 大清水バス停, the Oze Miike Bus Stop 尾瀬御池バス停 or the Oze Numayama Pass Bus Stop 尾瀬沼山峠バス停.

From Aizukogen-Oze-Guchi Station 会津高原尾瀬口, you can use the JR trains extensive network to go back to wherever you came from.
The Liberty Express Train 東武特急リバティ号 package, you can take the Liberty Express Train 東武特急リバティ号 back to Tokyo or Asakusa Station 浅草駅 without having to pay anything more since you have already paid for it.
If you signed up for the the Oze Night Train 23:45 尾瀬夜行２３：４５ package, you can only take the normal trains back. But of course, you can take purchase an express train ticket to take the express train as usual, although that is definitely not as worthwhile as buying the the Liberty Express Train 東武特急リバティ号 package in the first place.
